Staff Members at RoundTripper Sports Academy, the home of Mustangs baseball.
These individuals are involved in winter training and development of
all Mustang players as well as a resource to players and
coaches throughout the season.
Chris Estep - Roundtripper
President/Owner/Outdoor Tournament Director
Chris founded RT in
1993 following a 7-½ year career in professional baseball. He played in the
Pittsburgh Pirates, Cincinnati Reds and Montreal Expos organizations. Prior
to his professional career Chris was an All-American at the University of
Kentucky. His expertise in hitting has made him one of the most respected
instructors in the country.

Jay Lehr - Roundtripper Director of
Marketing and Sales/ Director of Baseball Pitching/ Director of Indoor Team
Rentals
Jay is in his 16th year with RT. He is the
Vice-President. He has extensive knowledge in pitching instruction. He will
be the Master Pitching Instructor for the 3-Tool Program, 5-Tool and the
Elite Pitching Club. He is certified as a Functional Fitness Instructor. Jay
is also an associate scout for the San Francisco Giants Baseball Club. He
graduated from Carmel H.S. in 1986. Jay was a pitcher at Chipola Jr. College
in Florida and at St. Joseph’s College in Indiana.

Scott Shirley - Roundtripper Director of
Operations/ Director of Developmental Baseball
Scott will be
going into his 12th year with RT. He is the Director of Developmental
Baseball Operations. He coached for 5 years at the HS varsity baseball and
softball level. Scott graduated from Carmel H.S. in 1986. He has a degree in
Physical Education and taught at Sheridan High School. Scott is the lead
instructor for the 3-Tool Program.

Kevin Fitzgerald - RoundTripper Pro Shop
Director/Hitting and Fielding Instructor
Kevin just
completed his 4th year as the Noblesville High School Varsity Assistant and
Hitting Coach. Kevin joins the RT staff from Sheridan High School, where he
was varsity baseball head coach. He was an assistant varsity coach at Park
Tudor high School before going to Sheridan. Kevin has also coached elite
summer teams guiding Team Indiana to a National Championship in 2006 in the
15U Ultimate Division. In 11 years of coaching HS baseball, Kevin has
coached teams winning 3 Sectionals, 2 Regionals, 2 Final 8’s and 1 Final 4.
In high school, Kevin was listed by the Houston Astros as one of the 60 best
HS players in Indiana. Kevin was a 4 year letter winner at Lawrence Central
High School where he was a shortstop and pitcher. Kevin is a Marine Corps
Veteran, serving for 5 years.

Chris Truby -
Chris will
begin his 7th year with RT. He teaches hitting and defense. Chris is
currently the Manager for the Williamsport Crosscutters, Philadelphia
Phillies organization. Last season he was a hitting coach in the Pittsburg
Pirates organization. Prior to his pro career Chis graduated from Damen
Memorial H.S. in Honolulu, HI. in 1992 where he was then drafted by the
Houston Astros. Chris played 15 years of professional baseball, 5 of those
years in the Big Leagues with Houston, Tampa Bay, Pittsburg, L.A. Dodgers
and the Kansas City Royals.

Matt Pulley -
Matt begins his
4th year with RT. He is the lead instructor for the Developmental Program.
Matt teaches hitting, defense and catching. He is currently the head coach
for the 13U Indiana Mustangs Select team. Prior to his pro career he
graduated from Woodland H.S. in Woodland, CA in 2003 where he was then
drafted by the Baltimore Orioles. Matt played catcher, 1b and 3b. He played
5 years of professional baseball with the Baltimore Orioles organization.

Ryan Tatusko -
Ryan begins
his 2nd year with RT. Ryan is the lead pitching instructor for the
Developmental Program. Ryan is currently pitching in the Texas Rangers
organization. Prior to his pro career he graduated from Noblesville H.S. in
Noblesville, IN. in 2003 from there he played at Indiana State where he was
then drafted by the Texas Rangers in 2007 and now plays in the Washington
Nationals' organization.

Kevin Christman, Senior Advisor, Indiana
Mustangs
Kevin leads the Mustang organizaation with over 27
years of Professional Baseball experience as a player, scout and in player
development. He is a former player for the Philadelphia Phillies, and
a former Player Coach of the Geelong Giants in the Australian Claxton Shield
League in Melbourne, Austrailia. Kevin is a former member of the well
renowned Campbell Little League and Campbell Moreland Youth Baseball/World
Champions. He is a former Certified MLB Player Association Agent.
Kevin is a current MLB Scout and member of the 2010 World Champion
San Francisco Giants!
He oversees the Indiana Mustangs coaching staff and all Player Development
curriculum.

Gregg Neidlinger - 18U
Head Coach
Gregg has been involved in coaching youth baseball for more than 15 years.
He is entering his 3rd year w/ the Indiana Mustangs. Gregg played 7 years IABL/MSBL
and is the Assistant Varsity / Head JV Coach at Guerin Catholic High School. A long time
student of the game, he has attended many clinics and specialized coaching
events. Gregg believes solid fundaments, proper mechanics, the right mental
approach and discipline are the keys to being a successful baseball player.

Dan Roman - 17U Head Coach
Dan was a second team all state shortstop on the 1983 state runner up Terre
Haute North HS baseball team. From there Dan was a 4 year starting shortstop
at Indiana State University, a 1986 College World Series participant, and
winner of the Missouri Valley Conference Gold Medallion Award in 1987. Dan
spent 3 years in the New York Yankee organization, including the AA champion
Albany Yankees in 1989. Dan spent 6 years as Assistant Varsity Coach at
Indianapolis North Central HS, and 14 years as Head Baseball Coach at
Lawrence Central HS. Dan has been 5 time Conference Indiana “Coach of the
Year”, 3 time Marion County “Coach of the Year”, Coach of the 2004 State
Champions and the recipient of 2004’s High School “Coach of the Year” in
Indiana

Jay Lehr - 16U Head Coach
In addition to his responsibilites with Roundtripper, Jay returns
to the Mustangs' coaching ranks as a head coach. Jay is an associate scout for the San Francisco Giants Baseball Club. He
graduated from Carmel H.S. in 1986. Jay was a pitcher at Chipola Jr. College
in Florida and at St. Joseph’s College in Indiana. Jay is also
varsity head coach at Carmel High School.

Scott Ayers - 15U Head Coach
Scott grew up in Houston, Texas and played for McLennan Community College
(Waco, Texas) where he was a member of the 1983 NJCAA National Championship
team. In addition, he was selected as an All-American Honorable Mention his
sophomore year at MCC. Scott pitched his junior year of college ball at the
University of New Orleans and was drafted by the Montreal Expos after that
season in 1985. Scott pitched for the Expos for three seasons until a
shoulder injury ended his professional career in 1987. Scott has coached
baseball for 10 years and currently resides in Westfield with his wife and
two children.

Scott Stachyra – 15U Head
Coach
Scott comes from a baseball family, where his father played Double A ball
and passed down his passion for the game. Scott has studied the game, both
as a player and a coach, playing through high school and continuing with his
degree in Physical Education. He has coached in the Westfield area for 7
years, the last 4 at the travel level. This is his 2nd year with the
Mustangs Organization.

Scott Shirley - 14U Head
Coach
Scott is the Director of Developmental
Baseball Operations for Roundtripper Academy and the lead instructor of RT’s
3-tool program. He coached for 5 years at the HS varsity level in both
baseball and softball. Scott graduated from Carmel H.S. in 1986. He has a
degree in Physical Education and taught at Sheridan High School.

Phil Paligraf - 14U Assistant
Coach
Phil has over 13 years of experience coaching travel baseball. He helped
coach the Fishers/Indiana Marlins 8u-12u teams from 1997-2003, the Indiana
Mustangs 13u–16u from 2004-2006, and was head coach of the Indiana Mustangs
10u-12u teams from 2007-2009.

Nate Habegger - 13U Head
Coach
Nate was a 3 sport athlete in high school, earning all
league honors in baseball, football and basketball. In football he was All
State and was Academic All State in basketball. Nate was a 4 year starter at
Hanover College in baseball, earning all league honors in 3 of those years
and was team MVP his senior season. Nate has been an instructor for the Doyle
Baseball School and he has coached baseball for 10 years. This is his 4th year
with the Indiana Mustangs.

Jud Thompson - 13U Head
Coach
Jud is a 1983 graduate of Carmel High School where he
played baseball through his sophomore year. He then switched his focus to
golf where he had limited college and professional experience. Jud has been
a coach and commissioner in the Carmel Dads Club and Mustangs organizations
since 2002. Jud has two sons playing in the Mustangs program at 12U and 16U.

Rob Hawkins – 13U Head Coach
Rob is a 1982 graduate of Lebanon high school where he played baseball,
basketball and football for four years. He is a graduate of Indiana State
University and a 22 year veteran of the Indiana Police Department. Rob has
coached youth and middle school sports for over 20 years, including middle
school baseball, basketball and football. He was an assistant coach with the
Indiana Mustangs the past 2 years. Rob and his wife Carol have 2 children,
Haley and Blake.

Brooks
Mitchell - 12U Co Head Coach
Brooks was a 1988 graduate of
Plainfield High school, where he was a 4 year letterman in baseball and
football. Brooks has coached at the Little league level for several years,
and has coached with the Mustangs for 3 years in an assistant role and 1
year in a head coaching role. He and his wile Laura have 2 boys, Connor and
Jackson.

Tony Page - 12U Head Coach
Coached Indiana Bulls in 1992. Coached Carmel All Stars youth league for
5yrs. Coached Indiana Mustangs 7u to 10u for 4yrs. Played Varsity Baseball
at Carmel High School

Adam Sharp – 11U Head Coach
Adam was a 3 sport high school varsity athlete who unfortunately suffered a
career ending knee injury in 1987. He has been a youth baseball head coach
for 8 years and was the founder and head coach of the Hamilton Heights 9U
Travel Baseball Program. Adam was assistant coach with the 9U Mustangs team
during the 2009-2010 season. Adam considers himself a student of the game
and has attended Butler University and Cal Ripken coaching clinics.

Chad Hinds – 10U Head Coach
Chad played middle infield at both Muncie South High School and the
University of St. Francis. He has been involved in youth baseball for the
past five years and most recently coached the 7U and 8U Heat in Noblesville.

Larry Martin – 10U Head Coach,
16U Assistant Coach
Larry has been involved with coaching youth baseball for the past 12 years.
He has coached Carmel Dads Club baseball, basketball and football for over 5
years and in the Carmel Pups baseball programs for 3 years. The last 4 years
Larry has coached the Mustangs 12U through 15U teams and been active in the
overall growth of the Mustangs Baseball Organization.

Jim Fisher - 9U Head Coach
Jim has been involved in baseball for the last 30 years, both as a player
and coach. He has been the pitching coach for the Indiana Wildire. Jim
played in the Colt World Series. He was a 4 year varsity baseball and
basketball player at Lafayette Harrison. Jim has coached youth baseball for
the last 8 years.
